My date with Finn

Hiya readers!  Ok, so let's talk about my date with Finn.  We met last Thursday night after his baseball game -- it was about 11pm by the time he got to my place.  As he was on his way up from the parking garage I tried to sneak a look at him in the security monitor.  His pictures were really good on OkCupid so I had my fingers crossed that he was as handsome in person.  When he stepped off the elevator I formed an immediate first impression based on these thoughts:
  • Holy crap he's a giant!  I guess "6'8" on his profile wasn't a typo after all.
  • Is it my imagination or does he look a bit like The Situation?  Maybe a little -- but no six-pack, tan, or douche-vibe.
  • Dear Lord, I need to burn that shirt.
All of those thoughts happened in about 3 seconds, then I gave him a big hug -- on tiptoes, obviously.  We decided to walk along King Street until a bar caught our fancy.  Finn is a really chatty guy, so conversation was light and breezy.

Another thing I noticed as we were walking side by side is that the poor guy was slouching terribly.  I was about to chalk it up to first date nerves, but then realized - duh! - he probably slouches all the time so he can actually hear people!  At one point over drinks he mentioned his height, kind of in a joking way.  That conversation went like this.

Finn:  Yeah, you may have noticed I'm kinda tall.  *sheepish grin*
Kiki:  Yep I noticed.  I thought your height online was a miss-click!  *laughing at my own lame joke*
Finn:  Awww, well I'm just glad you're not short!  You're pretty tall, and you're curvy!  It's like the online dating jackpot!  *goofy smile*
Kiki:  Thanks. *said while blushing and beaming ear to ear*

Yay!  He thinks I'm a jackpot!  The rest of the date was great.  He's really adorable, and I would LOVE to take the guy shopping.  (His shirt had holes.  Poor guy.)  The only thing I might regret about the date is that he pretty obviously wanted to kiss me goodnight but I chickened out.  We were in a parking garage and it just didn't feel right, you know?  Oh well.

Since our date we've been texting, but I feel a bit like his interest is waning.  His texts have been decreasing in frequency, which is strange because our date went so well!  I hope it's just my imagination.  I'd love to see him again.  The timing just didn't work out for this week unfortunately.  Hopefully next week!

(Is it rude if I suggest shopping, maybe as a 3rd date?  Seriously, that long-sleeve waffle tee with holes was heinous.)
